Mt. Airy Democrats, a grassroots organization of 22nd Ward committee people and Mt. Airy residents voted overwhelmingly to endorse State Rep. Chris Rabb (D-200th) in the Third District Congressional race.
This is a critical grassroots endorsement for Rabb and the Mt. Airy Democrats, formerly known as the 22nd Ward Open Caucus, which is the first progressive organization to do so. Mt. Airy is a significant part of his legislative district, composed of active voters who have helped him win past elections without party support. Mt. Airy Democrats have a proven track record for getting out the vote, with their endorsed candidates winning in their respective divisions.
“The Mt Airy Democrats are proud and excited to enthusiastically endorse Rep. Chris Rabb to represent our community in the U.S. Congress,” said co-chair Fred Dedrick. “Our election endorsement guide provided every candidate the opportunity to respond to a series of important and relevant questions. All candidates’ websites, social media platforms, and responses to our questions were shared with all our members. We strive to ask the appropriate questions and provide those responses to our members so they can make informed choices when they vote.”
“I am proud to earn the endorsement of Mt. Airy Democrats,” said Rabb. “They are leaders in the movement to energize the Democratic party’s base, and move our party forward through genuine community organizing with a democratic process. They’ve never been afraid to stand up to the establishment that holds our party back. I look forward to continuing to work with them to build power where it counts – with voters, neighbors, and grassroots leadership.”
Karen Bojar, a member of the Mt Airy Democrats and a retired 9th Ward committeeperson, is enthusiastic about Rabb’s candidacy. “I have watched Chris grow over his five terms in the state legislature, developing his considerable skills as a legislator and deepening his analysis of a wide range of local and national issues,” she said. “Chris is a fighter, and we can count on him to stand up for our progressive values and defend our democracy.”
