Everything you need to know to vote in Philadelphia.
In Philadelphia, all registered voters can vote-by-mail or in person on Election Day. You can also apply for and cast a mail-in ballot in person at your Philadelphia county election and Satellite Election Offices before Election Day. To vote, you must first register and meet the state’s eligibility requirements.
Vote by Mail
Voting-by-mail or by absentee ballot is safe, secure, and easy. In Pennsylvania, you have two vote-by-mail options. Any registered voter can apply for a mail-in ballot without needing a specific reason. Registered voters who can’t make it to their polling place on Election Day because of illness, disability, work, or travel can apply for an absentee/mail-in ballot online or vist an official Philadelphia County or Satellite Election Office.
Find Your Polling Place
Look up your local polling place so you know where to go to cast your vote on Election Day. Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Election Day. Any voter in line by 8 p.m. is allowed to vote.
Philadelphia Drop Box Locations
While there are no permanent mail-in ballot dropboxes in Philadelphia, temporary locations are made available by the City Commissioners before each election. Follow the directions carefully when completing your ballot. Bring your ballot to a dropbox location below before 8 p.m. on Election Day. If there is enough time you can mail it. If you change your mind and wish to vote in person, present your complete mail-in package to the Judge of Elections on Election Day so the ballot can be destroyed and you can vote on the machine.
